Each month a special child with a metabolic disorder is chosen to be the foundation's Angel.
Angel for September 2009
This month's Angel is Bridie. Bridie is a 14 year old who lives in England and has overcome many challenges. At the age of 4 months her parents began noticing her struggling with many developmental milestones. After months of doctors visits and testing, Bridie was diagnosised with a rare disorder called Glutaric Aciduria Type 1. Newborn screening in England does not include screening for GA 1 and many other organic acidemias. "Through it all, Bridie's amazing spirit and happiness has always shined brightly" 
The Mission
The foundation's goal is to gain awareness and help raise funds for expanded newborn screening, while also providing support to children & families that are coping with metabolic disorders...learn more about the BBAF!
