BBAF: July 2009 Angel

Angel for July 2009
This month's Angel is Maggie. Maggie is a precious little girl who was diagnosed with Isovaleric Acidemia, also known as IVA. Luckily it was detected at birth with newborn screening!
"She is growing and developing normally. I attribute all of this to Expanded newborn Screening. I often wish I could shake the hand of evryone who has made ENBS possible, and offer them my sincerest gratitude. Without them Maggies's story could have been very different." (Kamala, Maggie's mom)
